The 2026 PWRFA Clinical Grant Round is now open!
The PWRFA clinical grant round is an open and competitive call for research projects that are practical and clinically relevant with a clear pathway to impact in Australian healthcare, disability, family support or care delivery settings.
PWRFA will provide up to $50,000 AUD (GST-free) to fund an Australian clinical research project that makes a real difference for people with PWS, and the families who love them.
Basic science projects will be considered in subsequent rounds.
For this grant round, clinical research includes any study directly involving people with Prader-Willi syndrome, their families, carers, clinicians, or care systems, where the aim is to improve health, wellbeing, healthcare delivery or quality of life. This may include: intervention trials, psychosocial research, care delivery innovations, health services research, observational studies, research that improves practical support for families and care teams.
The project we fund will:
Address a clear unmet need for people with PWS and/or their families
Have a well-defined question and sound methodology
Have a practical pathway to implementation in Australian healthcare, disability or care systems
Projects that align with the PWS Research Roadmap will be considered favourably, but all clinical research addressing a genuine unmet need is welcome.
The Grant Round will follow a 2-step process:
1) Expression of Interest (2000 characters, including spaces – approx. 300 words)
2) Researchers with successful EOIs will be invited to submit a full application
EOI submission deadline: Wednesday 17th June, 2026
